LIBERTARIANS TEMPTED: Shall we accept the carbon-tax?

There is this fantasyworld.
And in this fantasy world we already have a good head of steam with hot rocks and nuclear power.
In this fantasy world Elvis and Vito Corleone are drinking red wine at my place. Vito isn’t talking very much and looks kind of sad.
In this world we have a minimalist government with a (VERY!!!!) slow substitution towards land tax planned and locked in decades in advance.
In this world CO2 REALLY IS A PROBLEM.
It doesn’t make food cheaper.
It doesn’t reduce the need for water for plants.
(In our world it does these things. But not in this fantasy-world).
Its not saving lives as we speak in this total fantasy world.
In this fantasyworld I say…. “What’s the matter Vito?” and Vito just waves his hand and his eyes fill with tears.
In this fantasyworld the oceans and atmosphere are extremely sensitive to the presence of CO2 and any release of CO2 causes the heat-energy content of the oceans to spiral upwards immediately.
Elvis says …. “Vito is just a little sad.. He never gets to hear good Rock and Roll anymore….
…And neither do I”
In this fantasy-world we can nuance the worlds thermostat with CO2 and there is no inbuilt bias towards catastrophic cooling.
“I only liked the black Rock and Roll singers…..”
says Vito in a quiet yet hoarse voice.
A voice spoken with great volumes of air.
Like the extension of a series of gasps.
Like ‘gasping’ modulated into language.
“…..I thought that white………GENTLEMAN?…. singing Rock and Roll was like……
… it was like…
… It was like they were trying to be black….
…. It sounded…..
….. terrible…”
” Now hold on there a rocking-minute”
says Elvis…
In this fantasy-world when we WANT a Pigouvian tax it is sunsetted. And its existence is not standing-propaganda and its existence does not lead to more government spending.
Vito interupts Elvis…
“I don’t direspect a man for the way he makes his living…
….But these girly-men…..
…….that have taken over from you……..
…They are not a…
..they are not a good example of MANHOOD for the children.”
says Vito.
Now seeing that Elvis is a bit upset Vito talks quietly as if he is talking to Elvis privately. Although he obviously knows that I am listening.
” I never said you were a bad singer….” says Vito..
“..You reminded me of Frank.
….With more power….
You were…. Wired to the walls….
….I cried when you came to Vegas…
…. It was …….
…It was beautiful…
…. But now that you are no LONGER the King……
(Oh well..
…There was never enough time…)
….things have gone bad…..
….The children need a new King…
… They need a new King…” said Vito.
After the tensest two minutes of my life, spent in total silence….Elvis looks up at me with tears in his eyes….
“Graeme” says Elvis.
“Would YOU like to be the King Of Rock And Roll?”
He snaps-his-fingers with his left-hand and points the middle finger of that same hand at me.
And it is only then that I notice just how much bling Elvis is carrying about.
I say nothing because Elvis is giving me the evil eye and I don’t want to look like I’m backing down or being intimidated.
I just slowly turn my head to look at Vito and try and vibe out the hysterically upset Elvis with Zen-thought-control-techniques.
After an awkward silence Vito says:
“I could pull a few strings”

Now in this FANTASY-WORLD its no contest.
There ought be no phase-outs or regulations with this JIVE.
You’d just substitute towards carbon tax.
Easy.
If you tax something there will be less of it then their otherwise would be.
This is always the case except for land and that is why land tax, if handled correctly and with respecting the current land-owners net worth…. That is why land tax (to some small level) is the least bad of the taxes.
So then a tax in this fantasy-world is the best and only way to reduce CO2 emissions.
But this is a fantasy-world.
None of the things I’ve said about CO2 are true.
This is all communist-talk.
All lies.
CO2 is fucking manna from heavan at all levels.
And I’m so sick of this.
And anyway I’ve got to practise my voice-work, dance-moves and microphone-technique.
So how about getting this subject back to the real world?
HOW ABOUT GETTING THIS SUBJECT BACK TO THE REAL WORLD?
I don’t think thats too much to ask.
