Oh right. The fiat currency recent record is just magnificent (idiot). Attempt to be an economist Jason. Its true that Steve’s system would be suboptimal. But can you keep you fucking communist-money toadying support to yourself. Its morally offensive given the level of stealing that the fiat currency has been an enabler for.

  3. “Computer memory based on electron spin. Lots of interesting research into Quantum computing. They are getting closer.”

What they are getting closer to is another research grant. Mainstream theoretical physicists never invent anything. They just claim the invention as a gift from their theories after the fact. If their theory was as great as the propaganda made it out to be, they would just go out and make this thing, with some skilled engineers. 3 years tops from scratch. But their theory is crap. So they will be always getting closer and moving forward (in the Michael Jackson moonwalking sense), since getting closer and moving forward, is what renews the grant.

See you are not talking about “the science”. You are talking about a political organisation that is a scam, and an endless series of junkets, and they have a specific globalist agenda to farm human beings even moreso then they are already doing.

Thats what this is about. It is the tendency of every taxeater organisation to expand the scope of its operations and its power. No difference here except that the people are more dishonest, evil and ambitious. Wilberforce and Lincoln didn’t end slavery. They made it go underground for awhile and use other names. Financial exploitation via fractional reserve, was a form of slavery, that now seems to have matastisized into a full-blown international overlordship.

Dumb leftist sheeple just go where the wind blows. And all the human-farmers (ie bigshots who seek to use humans as if they were farm animals) have to do is make sure the wind is blowing their way. If the bigshots can do that, then every public servant in the world comes onside as a force multiplier.

This global warming menace is a pitch for global slavery. Its not the only mechanism that the conspiracy is using for this purpose. Its one of many.

It is so wrong to assume that slavery is unpopular. Slavery has always been popular, and people miss slavery with a terrible longing. But slavery won’t be tolerated by many under the brand-name “slavery.” Global warming is another name for CO2-emissions in Orwell-speak. But its also another name for slavery. Since what is being attempted here is the monopolization and global rationing of energy. Any energy source that actually works cost-effectively will be opposed.

Thats why good guys like Barry Brook promote nuclear energy, and bitter exploiters like Al Gore oppose it. The reason is simply that nuclear energy works.

What a terrific post. I share your concerns. But somehow, though this is hidden between the lines …. you reveal yourself to be a CO2-Bedwetter. Now whats a smart boy like you, falling for a brazen and transparent racket like THAT?

Water and food problems WILL INDEED loom large in the next couple of decades. Peak oil is a useful model, but we have to put qualifiers on it, since oil is in fact a juvenile product of the planet itself, and it is no “fossil fuel.” But still the model is powerful.

But why let yourself get caught up in this globalist scam that is the campaign against warmer winter mornings for the Laplanders, based on a punditti-injected fear of a trace-gas?

The hysteria and transmuted racism against “carbon” is a distraction from the very real concerns you talk about above.

If we don’t get it together there will be famines and hundreds of millions will starve to death. And you are on top of the issue. Don’t blow it with any show of fealty to this biggest and most genocidal scam in all of history.

    Reply Alert moderator

  7. can you expand on “oil is no fossil fuel’? I haven’t heard that before.

  8. I imagine that Mr B will indeed expand on that in due course.

But first you must admit that you are a Jew.

  9. Franko, it’s known as the abiogenic petroleum origin theory.

Trust Mr B to know about it. There is little on this earth he doesn’t know about that is scientifically contentious, which covers a lot of ground, since much of our knowledge is provisional and incomplete.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenic_petroleum_origin

  10. This is weird. A 20 something girlfriend at work sent me this clip today. When I pointed out its lyrical origins in WW1 she said, she knew that, that she learnt to sing “pack up your troubles in your old kitbag” at Coogee primary school along with a heap of other Brit war songs.

    She’s second generation Greek.

Nice clip, performance and sentiment reinvented for today.

  11. Yeah. Interesting. At the moment this awful person, frangipani is giving me grief on Unleashed. She is lying and claiming that scientists have found no link between Mercury and Autism. Actually autism is just a form of Mercury poisoning. Its likely that ADD is a milder form and I might have to get Chelation therapy myself. But what I gets me is how these people lie.

These are scientists and they are making that link:

    http://www.vaccinationnews.com/DailyNews/July2001/AutismUniqueMercPoison.htm

Over at youtube one frustrated scientist after another is making that link. And yet people just lie about it.

  12. The problem with any one size fits all diagnosis of the cause or origins of autism is that it doesn’t explain the exceptions or the randomness of its manifestation in individuals.

The psychogenic theory of autism is quite persuasive too, but then it doesn’t account for those children with the same sort of parenting or childhood experiences who are not affected as either children or adults in the ways others may be.

The same goes for chemical contributors.

    • Right. But can you think of anything that negates a pretty mundane case of Mercury poisoning. While the kids who get the vaccines and don’t develop autism have Mercury in their hair, the kids who get the vaccine and do get autism don’t have Mercury in their hair. Since its still in their brain presumably.

  13. One of the 19th century advocates of the ‘oil is not a fossil fuel’ theory, the Russian chemist Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev, also developed the periodic table of elements which, in turn, dovetailed neatly with the discoveries of the particle physicists, enabling the likes of Niels Bohr in the 1920s to definitively link chemistry and physics by showing the connection between the periodic table and atomic structure. A neat example of consilience.

I like the idea that any subject or discipline is a “humanity” if treated historically, including the “hard” sciences. And I like the idea that increasingly, despite the countervailing tendency arising from the current academic bias towards specialisation, many disciplines still come together or inadvertently tell a similar story.

A powerful advocate of the necessity of this idea is E.O.Wilson, derided by a lot of leftists, but who appeals on both materialist and metaphysical grounds. Wilson reckoned that one day science will be able to explain art, music, religion, fashion, gift-giving, population policy, i.e. virtually anything and everything.

Colour preferences and attributes he said are largely innate, the arts are innately focussed towards certain themes, plots, etc.

His consilience theory is attractive not least because it shows not only how groups are related to each other, but how they are necessarily related, and how, again necessarily, interlocking groups share mutually reinforcing or impacting responsibilities, as well as rights.

Being as we could have easily transformed the various industries and got the rules right, such that the private businesses grew up around, and to crowd out, the government business…..

Being as we could have done that what was the essence of privatisation when it all came down to it?

What was the real essence of it all?

You had something valuable that we all owned. That the prior taxpayers had built. You had this asset. It had value. It was a good thing, and no debt attached to it.

The essence of privatisation was to take everything good that the taxpayer had built and saddle it with debt.

    Thats the take-home-story here.

I feel bad that I had to give him a hard time in this online debate. Every time I see him give a lecture its just the best gear. Can’t wait until we have the visuals with it. See the Mises media if anyone is interested.

  16. Moderated on Unleashed:

Autism is Mercury poisoning. Sometimes but not always from vaccines. Now thats the reality. But even considering it as an hypothesis, imagine the stupidity of someone who says the following:

“autism and the autism spectrum diseases, as properly conducted studies show that the incidence of these illnesses is the same in both vaccinated and unvaccinated children (and why make a child sick or dead if you don’t have to),”

This idiot imagines that she can make the reality go away by saying the above. No mention of Mercury.

    NO MENTION OF MERCURY!!!!!!!!!

    MERCURY MERCURY MERCURY MERCURY MERCURY.

Lets go over it again. Vaccines are implicated in autism. Thats a serious matter. No-one has cleared vaccines of this. Now can we have a bit of acknowledgement that vaccines ARE NOT CLEARED OF RESPONSIBILITY.

We are just going to have to keep going over it and over it and over it again until some sort of sense of responsibility is shown by the tribal taxeating scum.

    • I fully agree with you, Graemebird. However there is a natural way to avoid any diseases on Earth, by which any vaccines will become absolutely useless. The thing is that Nature has provided us the power of being as healthy as Gods. Doing the Immunizer, all of us – kids and adults – will become any bugs and cancers killers and enjoy the prefect health all the time, all our lives.
In fact any cancers and infectious diseases, known or unknown on Earth, can be wiped out immediately (everybody being his/her own Jesus) by doing an exercise (incrdible as it may seem) – the Immunizer – just a simple exercise for a minute a day for kids and adults as the full prevention of any diseases – from the common cold to cancer. If done for 3 – 4 minutes a day, the immunizer will guarantee a very fast recovery from any viral and other infections and any forms of cancer at any stage. No killer viruses, bacteria, germs and cancers on Earth got any chance against the tremendous power of the immunizer – they just die the moment they touch you.
The price to disclose the Immunizer to the whole world is 2,25 Trillion US Dollars, Euro, or BP, but can be negotiated with the appripriate political, financial and medicare institutions worldwide.
In fact all of us – kids and adults – will stay as healthy as Gods on our planet Earth now and for generations to come.
Further details of the incredible Immunizer are available upon request.

      • Yeah good one brother.

But any just god would have left for us a cheap way to find the cures. Vitamin C is cheap. Plankton is being sold at higher then its weight in gold right now but its naturally cheap and accessible. And apple seeds and apricot seeds are very cheap.

If there is a God he gives his remedies cheap and does not emulate the drug companies.

  17. MAKE YOUR CASE CAMBRIA.

I’M SAYING THAT AUTISM IS A PROSAIC CASE OF MERCURY POISONING IN KIDS. ADD A LESS SERIOUS CASE.

WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THESE MATTERS. WHAT IS IT THAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW?

  18. Bird, you’ve got it completely wrong on the autism thing.

MY GOD WHAT A POWERFUL ARGUMENT. GOOD LORD YOU ARE A FUCKWIT THR.

    1. ALL EVIDENCE OF ANY SORT, INCLUDING EVERY LAST BIT OF LABORATORY EVIDENCE, POINTS TO AUTISM BEING SIMPLY A MISDIAGNOSIS OF MERCURY POISONING.

    2. ALL SYMPTOMS OF AUTISM ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE SYMPTOMS OF MERCURY POISONING …… ALTHOUGH SYMPTOMS ARE DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON AGE AND SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE.

    3. AS A TODDLER I MYSELF EXHIBITED SYMPTOMS OF MERCURY POISONING SPECIFIC TOO TODDLERS, THEN WENT ON TO EXHIBIT ADD TO THIS DAY. HAD I KNOWN IT WAS MERCURY POISIONING I WOULD HAVE BEEN QUITS WITH IT BY NOW. I’VE HAD ABOUT 15 FLU SHOTS IN THE LAST 25 YEARS. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO “GROW OUT OFF IT” IF YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT IT. I OUGHT TO BE COMPENSATED A COUPLE OF HUNDRED THOUSAND BY THESE CRIMINALS.

    4. THERE IS NOT EVEN A COMPETING PARADIGM TO THIS ONE. THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD TIP US OFF THAT WE MIGHT EVEN BE WRONG IN THIS PARADIGM. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE NIGGLING FACT THAT TELLS US THAT WE MIGHT POSSIBLY BE ON THE WRONG TRACK.

NOW WHAT THE FUCK WAS YOUR EVIDENCE AGAIN?

WHEN YOUNG TODDLERS HAVE A MILD AMOUNT OF MERCURY POISONING THEY MAY EXHIBIT SYMPTOMS OF THE CONDITION OF PICA. THIS IS WHERE THE BABY WILL “EAT ANYTHING” AS MY MOTHER PUT IT. BUT WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS EATING DIRT AND CAT POO.

UNBELIEVABLE. THE KIDS GROW OUT OF IT AS THEY SLOWLY LOSE THAT RELATIVE AMOUNT OF MERCURY. I NEVER GREW OUT OF IT. BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW.

  19. Bird,

The starting point for any understanding of autism ought to be the social bond (or lack thereof). Forget crude biological reductionism as a means of establishing cause. It isn’t supported by evidence, and besides, we know it’s false since autism can be amenable to psychological (rather than chemical) treatment in some cases.

To be clear, I’m not suggesting that there isn’t some biological correlate for the symptoms of autism. Realistically, there must be. But we shouldn’t get carried away with stories about mercury.

As I said, the defining characteristic of autism, particularly the most severe cases, is the complete lack of a social bond. A ‘normal’ baby can’t do very much upon birth, but it does attempt to make eye contact. The autistic child does not. Where non-autistic kids seem to be born into an inherently relational world ( a Mitsein, to wax philosophical), autistic children are radically non-relational. In the more extreme cases, other people, for the autistic child, take on a thing-like quality. A telltale sign of the failure of the social bond can be seen in the phenomenon of echolalia. Words and language – markers of social bonds, par excellence – also become thinglike, and are played with by the autistic child, rather than incorporated into symbolic exchange, as they are for the rest of us.

This is the place from which we ought to develop a theory of autism, rather than some single-cause chemical theory. I should also add that ADD/ADHD are extremely unlikely to have the same aetiology as autism. Recent research into the latter disorders (to the extent that their status is unmuddied by nosological imbecility) has shown that pre-natal and early-childhood experiences have an immense influence on the growing brain, and can apparently turn reflex responses into longstanding predispositions.

YOU IDIOT. THE TELL-TALE SIGN OF MERCURY POISONING IN KIDS IS THE LOSS OF THE SOCIAL BOND, IF THE MERCURY POISONING IS SEVERE ENOUGH.

IF YOU GET THE MERCURY POISONING AT AN OLDER AGE YOU GET DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS. ALWAYS TO DO WITH THE BRAIN AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM. YOU CAN GET SYMPTOMS AKIN TO LOU GHERIG DISEASE IF YOU GET MERCURY POISONING AS AN ADULT.

  20. http://www.smh.com.au/national/autism-coal-link-study-stalled-by-government-20101003-162qa.html

  21. Yes exactly right Philomena. We have to do something about this Mercury coming out of coal plants. Here we are worrying about the beneficial CO2, and its the Mercury plumes are the real problem.

The closer a kid lives to a coal-powered station the more likely he is to get Mercury-poisoning. That is to say AUTISM.

Women with amalgam fillings have poisoned their baby boys in utero and with breast-feeding. Because while the Mercury in the womans tooth is a grave irritant and serious health threat to her, and a threat to the peacefulness within her marriage, the fact is its mostly boys who have a hard time getting rid of that Mercury.

But then again, it may be that this is compounded with other sources of Mercury in the young lads environment. Not excluding vaccines, and the water supply.

    From Philomena’s link:

“A researcher who has found strong evidence that autism is caused by mercury poisoning has been refused access to data that could point to emissions from coal-fired power stations.”

Don’t be thinking that this is the evil coal stations involved. If anyone its the taxeaters, and the medical establishment who need but give a nudge in one direction, and the sheeple who carry with them the smug opinion do all the rest.

Any self-respecting coal executive bigshot would spend tens of millions of dollars in both compensation, and measures to filter out the Mercury, were he not being bamboozled by international sheeple and whoever effectively “OWNS” the international medical cartel.

This is one example where the shadow government may well be a player. But we don’t need to rely on that possibility in any way. Because it is in the way of things that once the smug set goes into ass-covering mode, sheeple all around the world will do their bidding.

  22. MODERATED ON UNLEASHED

This story goes to the deeper issue that we need to move quickly to an entirely different type of democracy or we are finished. Machiavelli explained the cycle towards a democracy that can never last, and we are at the end of our cycle. Fortunately the Americans started scuttling their ship ahead of us, so hopefully some of us worthless, lowlife, provincial (verbalised with a huge weight-of-disdain) redneck, rural, kulack, bigots ……..

….. can light the path to a better tomorrow, for all you fluoride-drinking welfare recipients .. before it is too late.

What must be understood is the government departments are a place where evil people do wicked things.

You don’t need to UNDERSTAND this.

You only need to ACCEPT this…….

    (TO BE CONTINUED).

  23. NO NO.

We are not explaining anything AWAY. Stop bullshitting THR. No-one said anything about Tuna.

AUTISM IS MISDIAGNOSIS OF MERCURY POISONING.

You are the first dumb cunt to metion Tuna Sandwhiches. Many have I had, but none would I have had were this smokescreen not have been in place.

THE FACT IS THAT AUTISM IS SIMPLY MERCURY POISONING. THATS ALL IT IS THATS ALL ITS EVER GOING TO BE.

THATS WHY THERE ARE MORE CASES THE CLOSER YOU GET TO THE COAL STATION.

NOW HAVE YOU GOT ANY EVIDENCE OR ARE YOU JUST BEING A STUPID CUNT?

  24. What the fuck was THAT THR.

    The tuna fish whitewash?

How do you imagine that talking about tuna, can change the reality of mercury-poisoning?

You think you can make light of mercury-poisoning and change the fucking nature of the situation just by you being your cunting self?

You are a fucking idiot mate. How do you explain the coal stations business? The vaccine business? How?

  25. LOOK YOU FUCKING CUNT. STOP LYING. FIND SOME EVIDENCE, OR FUCK OFF.

TELL A FUCKING STUPID BASELESS LIE AGAIN, WITHOUT EVIDENCE AGAIN, I’LL BLOCK YOU, I’LL FUCKING FIND YOU, I’LL FUCKING BEAT YOU UP YOU CUNT.

LETS GO OVER THIS ONCE MORE.

AUTISM IS SIMPLY MERCURY POISONING. ALL EVIDENCE SAYS SO. NO EVIDENCE IS AGAINST.

YOU GOT IT THIS TIME DUMMY?’

OR ELSE WHERE DOES COAL FIT INTO THE STORY?

  26. FUCK OFF YOU LYING CUNT. WE WERE TALKING ABOUT MERCURY YOU FUCKING TOOL. COAL STATIONS GIVE OUT MERCURY PLUMES.

  27. It’s meaningless to talk about autism so broadly since there are degrees of autism which is why medical professionals refer to the “autistic spectrum,” i.e. the continuum from hard-core autism to high-functioning autism, to Asperger’s syndrome or borderline autism to the loner mentality or to neoliberals who think of people as little more than numbers, have difficulty in emotional intelligence, see economics as an end in itself, rather than a tool, have inflexible beliefs, etc.

I’m no expert on the mercury issue, but it’s clear that there is no scientific consensus or definitive evidence on the probable multiple causes of autism in every manifestation of it and there is no known cure for autism either, just therapies and drugs that may help some to some extent. And there is plenty of evidence as this excellent summary of the issues below indicates, that mercury may indeed be a causative factor.

I don’t see the purpose of denying this.

Bruno Bettelheim was a prominent psychoanlayst who claimed to successfully treat autistic children but his methods and claims were later widely debunked as bogus and destructive and sexist.

    http://www.ei-resource.org/illness-information/environmental-illnesses/autism-spectrum-disorders/

  28. http://www.counterpunch.org/pringle11052010.html

Right about now, paranoia in the vaccine industry is no doubt running at an all time high since the announcement of the first award in a vaccine-autism case in September 2010 for another girl named Hannah, with $1.5 million to start and $500,000 a year for life to pay for her care. “Those familiar with the case believe the compensation could easily amount to $20 million over the child’s lifetime,” CBS News reported on September 10, 2010.
Hannah was “described as normal, happy and precocious in her first 18 months,” until “she was vaccinated against nine diseases in one doctor’s visit,” in July 2000, CBS said.

  29. http://www.counterpunch.org/higgs03092010.html

The American experience with mercury-containing vaccines parallels the autism epidemic to the letter.

    • Exactly Philomena. There is no mystery here. Autism IS Mercury poisoning. ADD is less severe Mercury poisoning.

  30. http://www.counterpunch.org/higgs01132010.html

Another frustration for Kirby is the allegation that the debates about mercury, a known neurotoxin, and vaccine safety have stalled more important research on autism, because in an ironic way, those who argue that are right, he said. Mainstream science won’t research what it should — such as environmental mercury, mitochondria-damaging insults or live virus infections — because it is terrified of implicating mercury-containing vaccines. “It’s the fear, it’s the dread of that possible connection to vaccines that is stymieing the real research,” he said.

Nine days before Christmas, Kirby was writing an article on mercury for a national magazine. It’s an exceedingly complicated topic, he said. “There’s many, many different types of mercury. There’s many different types of, quote-unquote, mercury poisoning or manifestations of mercury toxicity.”

So the proposition is not, simply, mercury exposure from vaccines leads to autism. “It depends on the type of mercury,” he said, “the route of exposure, the amount of exposure, the duration, the weight, size, sex and genetic makeup of the individual who is exposed.”

And throughout the 1990s, coinciding perfectly with the rising numbers of autism diagnoses, practically every American child received excessive amounts of mercury in a vaccination schedule that increased from five shots before 18 months in 1983 to 19 shots in 1999. Beginning in 1992, children were inoculated at birth against hepatitis B.

In July 1999, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) and American Academy of Pediatrics issued a news release calling for mercury to be removed from vaccines. Vaccine makers did not resist, but it took several years for them to ramp up their mercury-free production. “They finally stopped making mercury-containing vaccines in 2001,” Kirby said. “But there was still a lot that had been made that needed to be used up. It was a gradual transition into the mercury-free formula. It didn’t happen overnight.”

Mercury continued circulating in routine vaccinations until at least 2003 and possibly beyond that, he added. “Then, of course, we started recommending the (mercury-containing) flu shot for pregnant women and small children right around that time. So we never really hit zero, even as we got most of the mercury out of most of the shots.”

  31. There is no scientific consensus because these filth are lying about it like THR. All the evidence is one way on this.

  32. But thats just it Philomena. They are terrified since they know what the answer is. Its not a difficult matter. But they still want to be able to fold their arms and say “you cannot prove anything.”

  33. You see what these bastards have done to me Philomena? I could have stopped eating Tuna sandwhiches and getting flu shots if they had come clean. I could have done so before 1999, and maybe I would have been through it by now. If not by simply stopping to poison myself then otherwise by Chelation (Key-lay-shun) therapy. But when you get lying scum like THR around you have this wall-of-sound preventing you and millions of kids from getting well.

  34. There is a cure for autism if you get to help the kid early enough. Its pretty simple Philomena. Since autism is just Mercury poisoning, the problem will be fixed if you can remove the Mercury early on. This is what happens. When they can remove the Mercury early on enough the kid is cured. Being as autism is Mercury poisoning.

Of course if you wait until the kid is twenty to remove the Mercury, the developmental retardation may be semi-permanent.

This is not some sort of issue where the other side have a good point or two to make.

  35. The amalgam thing is pretty scary. I’ve got amalgam fillings as have all my siblings. Funny, the next door neighbour in Brisbane was also the family dentist, and BOTH his children were severely autistic. One suicided in his 20s.

  36. There are obvious parallels here in the denialism about the environmental (read man-made chemicals) causes of skyrocketing cancer rates.

Treating (not curing) cancer is Big Business in much the same way vaccines are. That’s the priority.

Under capitalism, the corporate world that benefits monetarily from selling these treatments is terrified of any undermining of that in the interests of, er, public health – as the leftist summaries from Counterpunch above demonstrated – in much the same way all the drug companies and people who serve up radiation and chemo therapies that at best give a person with cancer a few months more time alive brook no criticism of these highly problematic practices.

  37. As you know Birdie, rightly or wrongly I’ve got a lot of time for psychoanalytic theory, literature, etc but Bruno Bettelheim was a crank on autism.

    Here’s why.
    Theoretical controversy
Bettelheim’s work on autism has proven controversial. Initially Bettelheim believed that autism did not have an organic basis, but resulted when mothers withheld appropriate affection from their children and failed to make a good connection with them. The most extreme expression of this concept suggested that mothers literally did not want their children to exist. Bettelheim also blamed absent or weak fathers. One of his most famous books, The Empty Fortress (1967), contains a complex and detailed explanation of this dynamic in psychoanalytical and psychological terms. He derived his thinking from the qualitative investigation of clinical cases.[citation needed] He also related the world of autistic children to conditions in concentration camps. In A Good Enough Parent, published in 1987, he had come to the view that children had considerable resilience and that most parents could be “good enough” to help their children make a good start.[7]

“Bettelheim subscribed to and became a prominent proponent of the “refrigerator mother” theory of autism: the theory that autistic behaviors stem from the emotional frigidity of the children’s mothers, a view that enjoyed considerable influence into the 1960s and 1970s in the United States[citation needed]. However, some indications suggest that he later changed his thinking.[1] Bettelheim’s 1967 book The Empty Fortress: Infantile Autism and the Birth of the Self, which promoted the “refrigerator mother” theory of autism, enjoyed wide success, especially in the popular press. The book played a key role in ensuring that the “refrigerator mother” theory soon became the accepted explanation for autism in popular culture and, to a considerable extent, in professional circles.[2]

Subsequently, medical research has provided greater understanding of biological bases of autism and other illnesses. Scientists[who?], most notably Bernard Rimland, have largely discredited Bettelheim’s views on autism, although as of 2009[update] the “refrigerator mother” theory still retains some prominent supporters.[2][8]”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruno_Bettelheim

  38. SINCE AUTISM IS JUST MERCURY-POISONING IN KIDS, I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT MY ADD IS MERCURY-POISONING ALSO. SO I’VE GOT TO GO THROUGH MERCURY CHELATION (KEY-LAY-SHUN). HAD I KNOWN ABOUT IT I MAY HAVE BEEN QUITS WITH IT BY NOW. BUT I WAS GETTING MERCURY-LACED FLU SHOTS EVERY YEAR.

THERE IS NO CULPRIT TO SUE FOR MANY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, SINCE TO A GREAT EXTENT ITS JUST BEEN ALL THESE TAXEATERS LYING ALL THE TIME.

  39. The overuse of mathematics in right-wing (read neoliberal) economics is a factor in the marked institutional autism of mainstream economics and the financial world today. And a major reason why most of the world today in the globalised capitalist economy is in such dire straits.

You only have to look at people like Joe Cambria, Jason Soon, Sinclair Davidson, Mark Dill, doverbeach et al on Cattleprosy to see that writ large and ugly. These robotic types reduce the universe to a simple, extremely narrow “reality” and in the process eliminate whole sets of questions, intellectual inquiry and parts of society from analysis.

The effect of massively restricting the empirical and theoretical information underpinning their “beliefs” allows them to maintain their assumptions and mantras about the “free” market and much else, however unrealistic and risible all these are in both theory and practice to the rest of the known world.

Not knowing that the observer is always affected by being a participant in the system, and that serious philosophical reflection in every discipline is paramount, dovetails perfectly with the generally autistic attitudes of these repulsive lugs.

  40. Graeme as you know I’m with the farmers and the Greens and all their supporters on the hazards and drawbacks of dependence on filthy coal.

We’ve got to get away from coal extraction altogether. It will come or if it doesn’t this planet will possibly become uninhabitable. And no, I don’t support nuclear power either for all the well-known and irrefutable reasons. No one has the answers for alternative energy or how to restrict the type of growth which is counterproductive in the long run for future generations and the possibility of life on this planet in any way resembling what we – some of us – enjoy now.

Not having the answers doesn’t mean we wring our hands and just continue business as usual. That would be suicidal.

    • But its only the particulates, and the mercury that is bad about coal. And we cannot get by without it, since we do not have the nuclear power plants in place.

  41. Fortunately the Greens are on the up and up which just shows that hard, patient long-term work pays off in the end. Well burrowed, old mole! As Hamlet said.

I’m way to the left of the Greens but the thing is their program and policies overall taken together, or even singly in some instances, is objectively anti-crony capitalist and will take a qualitative change bordering on revolution in the way of doing business to be implemented. And that’s good. That I support.

  42. Birdie-bun, have you heard this? “Part Pepys, part Hunter S Thompson”. LOL. Enjoy two literate, mature, male adults discussing Australian politicians. I am as I type.

  44. Re the single comment in that link. I’m a woman and I always knew Gillard would be a disaster if not, more prosaically, a big nothing. It’s got nothing to do with sexism to say she’s a principle-free zone and not very bright. An ALP hack. Nothing going on up top except the will to power.

  45. This is rather OT Graeme, but have you ever read any fiction or non-fiction by Ruth Park? She was born in Auckland, New Zealand moved to Australia and married another notable Australian (Irish) writer, D’arcy Niland. They lived in Surry Hills in the 40s and 50s and she wrote about the slum life of the working class there in a most lyrical and beautiful if telling way. She’s one of the greats of Australian literature.

I’m reading her Autobiography at the moment, which I highly recommend. Niland died long before she did and she missed him painfully so. She became a student of Zen Buddhism and lived on Norfolk Island for many years.

I love this tribute to him in Vol 2 of the autobiography:

“He found God everywhere, even in people whom I would say were duplicitous and envious. ‘Ah, he’s really a decent fella,’ he used to say, seeing some divine nub in a human-shaped bundle of meanness [like JC on Catalepsy] savage secrets, horrid fragilities, defending him against my sharper eye and unkinder spirit.

“For him the divine force was defined as it was by Hermes Trismegistus: ‘an infinite sphere where centre is everywhere, whose circumference is nowhere.’

“This is obvious in his work, even the slightest.”

She had a damaged backbone in later years which caused her much pain and immobility. She writes in the autobiography about how she would rage against this condition, ask what she’d done to deserve it, all of which of course was counter-productive as it just made her stiffen up and suffer more.

Eventually, as she recounts, she learnt to stop being rigid and resistant and while not welcoming the pain, somehow “allowing it to flow through”.

    • No I haven’t read her. I’ll have to get around to it. Thanks for the recording of Bob Ellis talking to Phil. I’ll listen to that now.

  46. correction, Ruth Park wrote:

…”an infinite sphere *whose* centre is everywhere” etc

  47. Hi Graeme, I see you’re tackling the problem of autism now after defeating cancer and coming up with a cure. How long before you have the cure for autism?

THATS VERY EASY. AUTISM IS MERCURY-POISONING. SO CURING AUTISM IS ABOUT WHAT?

    WHAT DO YOU THINK?

DUH????? STUPID WOP. GETTING RID OF MERCURY OF COURSE. BUT THIS MAY NOT BRING BACK ALL THOSE LOST YEARS. IF THE KID HAS BEEN RETARDED IN HIS DEVELOPMENT GETTING RID OF THE MERCURY WON’T GIVE YOU THE LOST DEVELOPMENT BACK. BUT IF YOU GOT THERE EARLY ENOUGH GETTING RID OF THE MERCURY IS OBVIOUSLY THE CURE FOR MERCURY POISONING.

NOW I HAVE TO BE CONCERNED WITH IT, SINCE I’VE GOT A MILDER FORM OF THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHY ARE YOU SO OBSESSED ABOUT A SCIENCE COMMENTATOR WITH A TOTAL RECORD OF ERROR?

YOU REALLY ARE A DUMB WOP CAMBRIA. HAVE YOU NO UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE AT ALL.

CAMBRIA WAS TOO STUPID TO REALISE THAT THE TRICERATOPS LAID EGGS. HE COULDN’T COPE WITH THE IDEA THAT A BEAST THAT RESEMBLED A RHINO LAID EGGS.

    TRUE STORY.

  48. Bird Flaps obvs has a brain the size of his miniscule dick.

Send him to the spaminator Birdie where the twerp belongs.

    • Funny that coming from a gormless trannie.

  49. Gormless trannie equals this? Yessum

Ergo all gorgeous high-kicking chicks like me and Cyd are, as the premature ejaculating autistic one says, gormless trannies. lol

    eat your heart out, pencil-dick.

  50. For fucksakes Cambria. You have no capacity for scientific matters. You couldn’t believe that the triceratops laid eggs for the love of stupid wops everywhere.

Just because you have no capacity for science matters doesn’t mean I’m the same. I know I have retained Mercury. Because I’ve researched it. But were it not for leftist liars, I ought to have known this 20 years ago.

  51. Here’s a picture of Bird Flaps. A more attractive version of the far more repulsive JC, truth be told.

  52. For fucksakes Cambria. Can you get NOTHING right? I already told you she was hot.

  53. My God this Bob Ellis interview is terrific. So funny. I’ve had a bit of a moratorium on buying books but it looks like its going to get broken.

  54. I must be someone who retains Mercury, but the Catallaxians will not be so afflicted. So they ought to think about medicating themselves with Mercury like Tycho Brahe to get a few fucking clues (like Tycho Brahe.)

Because I hope that from here on in I’ll be nice to all intelligent women. But is there best guess that I would have so much time for Philomena were she not the hottie that she is?

Where is that coming from? She is hot. She is an absolute honey! She can be a prickly pear yes. But a lot of women are like that.

  55. Since Phil and you are discussing Ruth Park, (I was a big fan of her 30 years ago, but I doubt they are the same books Phil is referring to), I should point out that she is Rafe from Catallaxy mother-in-law. Actually I think he co-wrote some books with her (non-fiction).

  56. Right right. Yes Philomena did tell me about that. She was effusive in her praise for Rafes Mother-in-law. This is something she told me about verbally and with a lot of excitement. I didn’t click with it this time around.

  57. Ruth Park wrote about nine novels, probably the best and most well-known when she was a young woman in her 20s and early 30s, dozens of children’s books, short stories, radio scripts and around eight non-fiction books including still one of the best ever books written about Sydney “The Companion Guide to Sydney” published in 1973.

She was the sole author of that. A “revised” edition of this was published in the late 1990s when she was in her late 70s, that had Rafe Champion’s name on it along with Ruth Park. I haven’t read this version so can’t comment on the update. I have a treasured battered hardback copy of the first edition which was a much loved family copy that I managed to end up with. It is a time capsule account of a Sydney and many of its far flung suburbs that in many ways no longer exists – and didn’t when I first came to Sydney – beautifully written and researched.

The only other book Rafe and Ruth Park co-authored was her bio of the boxer Les Darcy – published in the mid 1990s – a subject she and her husband had extensively researched for much of their life (D’Arcy Niland was named for him) and which Niland had always intended to write about but was prevented from doing so due to his untimely and sudden death at the age of 50. I haven’t read that book – not really interested in books about sporting identities, least of all boxers, though I understand it is well-regarded.

  58. Publishing is a funny game. A stack load of best selling writers’ fiction (in particular) have their work substantially sub-edited by professional editors who in many cases make a silk purse out of the proverbial oink’s ear. That happens less so these days than in the past due in large part to the drive to reduce production costs to the bone in a fiercely competitive and over-supplied market.

Low production costs don’t matter so much today if the book is a dud because the market can be flooded with newbies that may do better. If not, not a lot is lost.

The same goes for newspaper copy. The Australian pays a lot for a range of hothoused specialist journalists and columnists many of whom are borderline illiterate and still are precious about their copy being touched. The 50 or so full-time sub-editors (all professional, experienced journalists themselves) who work on each edition really earn their not very well paid $ turning the bylined or specialist (business, finance, sport, IT, etc) drivel into good English.

  59. Graeme, in September you said you had ordered a top of the line Japanese water alkalizing machine. Has it arrived yet and how much approximately did it cost?

YES ITS ARRIVED. BUT I’M SHIFTING HOUSE AND HAVEN’T TURNED IT ON YET.

I also read on unleashed that you have been ingesting an industrial textile bleaching agent, sodium chlorite. What is your normal dosage of this?

ITS NOT A BLEACHING AGENT. YOUR CONSTANT LYING IS TIRESOME. ITS A WATER PURIFICATION AGENT. AT THE MOMENT I’D BE TAKING ABOUT THREE DROPS A DAY. BUT THATS NOT A FOREVER THING. SINCE THAT LEAVES A LOT OF CHLORINE IONS IN YOUR BODY. THESE CHLORINE IONS CAN BIND TO THYROID HORMONE, DISPLACING IODINE. CHLORINE IS NOT CLOSE TO BEING AS BAD AS FLUORIDE ON THIS SCORE. BUT NEVERTHELESS, ONCE YOU HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME PATHOGEN-FREE IT BEHOOVES YOU NOT TO RELY ON ANY ONE METHOD. THE THING TO DO FROM HERE IS TO GET LIQUID IODINE AND COLLOIDAL SILVER. BUT RELY ON THE ALKALISER AND THE IODINE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT, USING THE OTHER TWO ONLY AS BACKUP. ALSO IF YOU ARE ALMOST PATHOGEN FREE IT BECOMES VERY APPARENT IF YOU HAVE PROBLEM TEETH THAT ARE RECONSTITUTING YOUR BACTERIAL LOAD. I CAN NOW TELL THAT I HAVE TWO SUCH TEETH. SO AS NOT TO BE TOO RELIANT ON THESE VARIOUS AGENTS, THEN I WOULD HAVE TO GET THEM REMOVED.

YOU HAVE TO SET AN EXAMPLE WITH THIS STUFF. YOU HAVE TO BE AS CONSCIENTIOUS AS YOU CAN BE.

You also said you were taking colloidal silver. Have you heard of this guy in the US who turned blue due to using this stuff?

YES I’VE HEARD OF HIM. SOME PEOPLE SAY ITS REALLY COPPER HE’S BUILT UP. THEY SAY THAT THE SILVER WOULD BE GREY. SOME THINK HE’S BEEN BRIBED TO DO THIS TO KEEP THE DRUG COMPANIES IN BUSINESS. CERTAINLY THIS IS UNUSUAL. BUT IT IS A POWERFUL ARGUMENT TO GET USED TO COLLOIDAL SILVER, BUT THEREAFTER ONLY USE IT AS EMERGENCY BACK-UP.

ANOTHER FELLOW RECKONED HE WAS DRINKING AWESOME AMOUNTS OF IT EVERY DAY. AND IT WAS ENOUGH TO TURN HIS FINGERNAILS BLUE. BUT DESPITE HIS FINGERNAILS, HE STILL DRINKS A SMALL AMOUNT DAILY, BECAUSE HE HAS RELENTLESS AND SEVERE BRONCHIAL TROUBLE OTHERWISE. THEY GET STUCK ON ONE MIRACLE CURE. REALLY HE OUGHT TO BE RELYING ON ALKALISED WATER FIRST, THEN IODINE, THEN SODIUM CHLORITE, AND COLLOIDAL SILVER LAST OF ALL, AND WITH A BIT OF CHELATION THERAPY HE COULD PROBABLY BRING HIS FINGERS BACK TO THEIR NORMAL COLOUR.

  60. Mr Bird, I’ve been looking for junior and see he’s come over here to torment and mock you.

Bird Flaps has always been a graceless creature. I knew the first moment I clapped eyes on him squalling like a hyena and purple-faced that his entire life he would be a bundle of inconsolable misery to himself and others.

And so it came to pass.

I had hoped sending him to Mt Druitt High rather than home schooling him like the rest of the brood he’d get a reasonable education and turn out normal. Unfortunately, he has remained uneducated and rough. He’s common as muck, m Bird. He has no friends, no one can stand him and he can’t work out why.

I see that you are a truly educated gentleman and have been gentle with him. That is the mark of an aristocrat, Mr Bird. A Man of Propriety. I admire you.

  61. THIS IS WHY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AN IDIOT ….. LET ME PARAPHRASE you thinking.

“Bleach ….. ho ho …… Bleach”

Why do you hate logic so much? “Bleach …… ho ho ….. Bleach” is not an argument for anything. I remember about three decades ago watching Mugabe at a rally and listening to his crap thinking how primitive these people must be. But now that anti-logic rebellion has come here.

  62. Birdie-bun What does champagne sound like. Like this?

  63. My lord. What sweet eyes he has. And the lips, o my. Only 5ft 2inches wiki said. And didn’t read music and died in his 50s. And he sounds like an orchestra. He’s a god.

  64. Oh god, the puerile non sequiturs flowing like effluent from Birdflaps provincial mind. Get a life you obsessive. Get educated. Read a book. Look, being kind now, I suggest you start with Noddy.
